About This Office

Mullen Pittsburgh opened in 1987 as an entrepreneurial shop called Werner Chepelsky. Our founders, both members of the Pittsburgh Advertising Hall of Fame, possessed a passion for great work that generated more business for our clients and more clients for our agency.

Soon, we added public relations, account planning, direct marketing and interactive. As we grew, we did things differently from most agencies. First, we grew these departments organically. Second, we instituted a distinct "brand-team" approach. We have no individual profit centers competing for our clients' dollars. We have people competing for great ideas, identifying how to best meet and exceed our clients' goals.

In 2001, we became part of Mullen, which has earned an international reputation for smart, breakthrough ideas that get noticed. Mullen in turn is part of Interpublic Group, the second-largest marketing and communications company in the world. As such, we are Pittsburgh's portal to IPG's worldwide resources - from research to media clout to international liaison. At the same time, we retain our entrepreneurial spirit, our passion for the product and our reputation as one of Pittsburgh's pioneering creative agencies.
