Free food with an accent

Posted by Michael Bourne on 08/10/11

Are you hungry? Do you like free food? Do you speak even a tiny bit of Spanish, French, Italian or German? Are you in NYC today or tomorrow? If you answered yes to all, then head to Union Square today and Midtown Manhattan tomorrow and look for the Living Language Food Trucks. All you have to do is place your order in one of those four languages (there are cheat sheets on the trucks to help you, BTW) and you’ll get free food. The trucks will be in Union Square (between 16th and 17th) August 10th from 11am-4pm and Midtown (Broadway between 55th and 56th) August 11th from Noon-5pm.

The Food Truck event is part of a broader Living Language campaign – “The accent is on you” – that Mullen’s Pittsburgh and Boston offices have teamed-up on. Living Language is an imprint of Random House Inc., and has recently launched its new Platinum program providing foreign language instruction through printed text, audio CDs and downloads, online courses, social community, e-tutors, and apps.

If you’re interested in developing your language skills, you can engage with the Living Language brand in a number of different ways – website, Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, apps – to see if it’s right for you. Or if you’re just hungry, look for the food trucks in NYC and Bon Appetit!
