Tim misses the door, but agility saves the day
One of the great advantages of being located in the heart of downtown Boston is that when you mistake a glass wall for an open door, it’s only a short term problem. It was 9:20:41 A.M. (note the time code on our main lobby video camera). Creative Director Tim Vaccarino has less than an hour before his Boston flight leaves for New York. He stops at the office to grab some of the presentation, but with his mind elsewhere he neglects to walk through the wide open door to Mullen’s reception area and instead, well, take a look at the video.
But because we’re right in the heart of Boston’s financial and retail district, Tim was actually able to get himself a new wardrobe, literally in minutes, still make his plane, get to New York and help win a new piece of business. The latter will be announced here sometime in the future.
Moral of the story? Mullen employees are unflappable, agile, and blessed with a sense of humor. True, Tim’s creative direction is better than his sense of direction. But at least he has his priorities right.

I also saw a guy who makes a mess and doesn't even think about cleaning up after himself. What does that say to the next client, prospect, or potential employee who walks through that messy door?
Good think your guys moved those offices off the North Shore and got yourselves downtown.
Thanks for the laughs, Tim! You've finally got a good intro for your reel. (And thanks for the backstory, Edward.)
At Mullen, we believe in both transparency and in being unbound, so our doors are made of glass. Moral of the story: while there's no glass ceiling, you should always be wary of glass doors.
That's a nice axe you're grinding there, kiddo. Why not just relax and laugh at a good dude making a silly pratfall?
rest assured, everything was cleaned up…but who wants to watch that?
Poor guy. Had too much on his mind to see where he was going. Can't believe you guys posted this on Facebook. Hilarious, LOL! Is he doing ok?
Ah Timmy Vac…………you sure did it with style, as always!
too bad he only had one take…could have used a rehearsal or two to make it look real….but funny idea.
congrats on winning brooks brothers!
An agency with the courage to laugh at itself.
That was you, Tim Vac? Didn't recognize you in your Sunday-goin'-to-meetin' clothes. You surrrre clean up nice. Or, you did, prior to the venti latte assault. Congrats on whatever new biz you won.
Tim,
This was awesome web fodder. I'm glad the story has a happy ending. Thanks for making our day. That used to happen to me back in the glass-fishbowl of Hill Holliday all the time. I recommend removable stickers on the glass or maybe cutting back on the cleaning peoples' time a bit.
SchneiderMike
dude, why don't you have a little coffee with that cream?
Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out, Tim.
I hope we can take advantage of Tim's focus over the coming campaign. Ha. Great video.
Vac, I have to send this clip everywhere. I know, I'm sorry, but it's kind of my job.
FYI consider the Brooks ploy blend. Not as comfortable as the pinpoint oxford, but coffee bounces off.
Edward, great to see you last night.
Let Vac expense the shirt.
I've done this and have a scar on my forehead to prove it…
Just saw this on my Comcast homepage this morning.

wtf is he supposed to do? lick it clean? obviously he had to continue into the office. idiot.
This gave me a good chuckle! Especially because he stands there stunned for a bit! Way to turn the day around and win the biz! We've all had a morning like this one!

I had to watch this a couple of times. Just because it's Monday. And I missed it when you 1st posted it. Thanks, guys. I needed that.
